There’s something uplifting about seeing bright yellow rudbeckia flowers in the garden. They’re elegant from a distance and yet imperfect up close and they’ve no choice but to sway awkwardly with the changing moods of the wind and hope to survive intact.

I tried to photograph some with my DSLR camera but the bulkiness of the equipment frustrated my plans. Normally adept at folding my body into awkward positions for finding just the right angle, I just couldn’t get comfortable. Very reluctantly I tried something different – using my phone camera … the results were better than expected.
I’d planned a longer post on cone flowers but currently find fewer words more manageable. Pretty pictures will have to do the talking for now.
Changing my perspective and finding the beauty in the messiness of nature helps with stressful times.
